Hermann Beyer (born May 30, 1943 in Altenburg , Thuringia ) is a German actor .
Life
Hermann Beyer was born the son of a commercial clerk and a shop and is the younger brother of the DEFA - film director Frank Beyer . After graduating from the State Drama School in Berlin , he made his debut in 1966 as an actor at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater in Berlin. This was followed by a theater engagement at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam in 1971 and, from 1972, eight years at the Volksbühne Berlin under Benno Besson . From 1980 to 1983 he worked as a freelance actor. From 1983 to 1999 he was part of the Berliner Ensemble before he returned to work as a freelance actor on stages in Chemnitz, Weimar, Hamburg, Munich, Bern, Schwerin, Zurich and with the independent theater group Norton Commander . Among other things, he was seen at the Berliner Volksbühne in Die Maß / Mauser after Bertolt Brecht , Hanns Eisler and Heiner Müller in 2008 and took on the role of husband at the Dresden Societaetstheater in Henning Mankell's two-person play Treffen in the afternoon , alongside Irma Münch .
Parallel to his work at the theater, Beyer also played in film and television productions, initially as a supporting actor such as in the television film Woyzeck from 1965. Since the mid-1970s, his film and television activities increased, initially for DEFA and DFF , where he also worked with his brother, later also in all-German productions. Beyer also played in films made by students in German film schools. In 2012 he received a nomination for the German Film Award for his supporting role in Andreas Kannengießer's Vergiss dein Ende .
