Aleksa Luković ( Serbian - Cyrillic Алекса Луковић ; born February 6, 1992 ) is an American - Serbian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Prilly since 2017 in the 2nd division, the fourth Swiss league level.

Career

Aleksa Luković, who has both Serbian and US citizenship, began his career as a hockey player at HK Red Star Belgrade , for whom he first played in the Serbian ice hockey league in 2008 . He was also active with the U20 team of the club in the Hungarian junior league. Before the start of the playoffs of the Slohokej Liga 2010/11 , he moved to HK Partizan Belgrade and was promptly involved in the first title win of the Serbian record champions in this Slovenian-dominated league. In the following year, in which he initially also completed a few games for the Jamestown Ironmen in the North American Hockey League , he again won the title in the Slohokej League with Partizan and was also Serbian champion. In 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 he was able to win the Serbian ice hockey league with Partizan . In 2016/17 he played for HC Renens from the canton of Vaud in the 3rd division, the fifth Swiss league level. He then moved to the neighboring HC Prilly in the 2nd division.

International

For Serbia Luković took part in Division III of the U-18 World Cup in 2008 and Division II of the U-18 World Cup in 2009 and 2010 and the U-20 World Cup in 2009 , 2010 and 2012 in Division II and the U-20 respectively -World Championships 2011 of Division III participated. At the U-20 World Cup in Division III in 2011, he was not only recognized as the best player of his team, but was - although a defender - also the best scorer (21 points), together with the Turkish Serkan Gümüş top scorer (11 hits) and after his compatriot Viktor Cengeri, together with the Turkish Yusuf Halil, was the second best preparer (20 assists) of the tournament and also had the best plus / minus balance. In 2012 he was the top scorer among the tournament's defensive players.

In the men's area, Luković took part with the Serbian selection in the World Championships of Division II in 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 . In addition, he stood on the ice for his colors at the qualifying tournaments for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 and in Pyeongchang in 2018 .
