Alphagene II is the eighth solo album by the German rapper Kollegah . It was released on December 13, 2019 on his own label Alpha Music Empire as a standard edition as well as a premium and deluxe box set , including the street EP Ghettoglamour .

The album was produced by a variety of different music producers . Freshmaker was involved in most of the productions with twelve pieces. Other music comes from B-Case , Joznez , Zinobeatz and Johnny Illstrument , among others .

Cover design

The album cover is based on Kollegah's debut album Alphagene . It shows the rapper sitting on a throne with a backrest in the shape of a maple leaf . Kollegah is holding a revolver and a black Doberman is standing in front of him . The silver lettering Alpha Music Empire Presents , Kollegah and Alphagene II can be seen in the picture above. The background is completely black.

Guest Posts

There are only two songs on the album, besides Kollegah, other artists appear. The rapper Asche, who is under contract with his label Alpha Music Empire , can be heard on the songs Yayo and Offenes Verdeck . Kollegah's long-time collaboration partner Farid Bang also has a guest appearance on the latter .

The street EP Ghettoglamour also features Asche in the song Oktagon Vita and the rapper Boz on the King is dead .

Alphagene II entered the German album charts at number 1 on December 20, 2019 and stayed in the top 100 for eleven weeks. In Switzerland it reached number 3 and in Austria number 7 in the charts.

On November 8, 2019, the song Alphagenetik was released as the first single on the album and reached number 17 in the German charts. The second release Valhalla followed on November 29, 2019 and rose to 54th place in the German charts. In addition to the music videos for both singles, videos were also shot for the songs Maybachemblem , Yayo , Offenes Verdeck and Infinitum .

Dominik Lippe from laut.de rated Alphagene II with two out of a possible five points. He describes it as a "completely humorless album" with sometimes contradicting lyrics, which has "neither the ease nor the self-made quality control" of his debut album Alphagene .
