Alyson Lee Hannigan (born March 24, 1974 in Washington, DC ) is an American actress .

Life

Alyson Hannigan was born in Washington, DC in March 1974 to real estate agent Emilie Posner and truck driver Al Hannigan. Your mother is Jewish . Your father has Irish ancestry. Her parents divorced a year after she was born. She grew up mainly with her mother in Atlanta .

Although she starred in a commercial for Active Parenting as a baby and in 1978 for Duncan Hines biscuit mix, her real acting career didn't begin until 1985 when she moved to Los Angeles . She went to North Hollywood High School . When her father visited Santa Barbara , she went to an audition and won it.

Career

At the age of four, Hannigan was already in front of the camera for commercials for McDonald’s and other companies.

She was first known through the film My Stepmother is an Alien and later the series Buffy - The Vampire Slayer . In the series, she played the witch and computer specialist Willow Rosenberg in a total of 144 episodes for seven years. She also played the role of Michelle in four American Pie films.

Then Hannigan played the title character Sally in a stage version of Harry and Sally in a London theater and was seen in several episodes of the series Veronica Mars in 2005 as Trina Echolls. In autumn 2005 her new series How I Met Your Mother started in the USA , in which she played the educator Lily Aldrin in 206 episodes at the side of Jason Segel until the series finale in 2014 . In February 2006, she appeared as Julia Jones in Date Movie , a parody of romantic comedies.

Since July 2016, Hannigan has hosted the TV show Penn & Teller: Fool Us , a talent competition for magicians who challenge the successful magician and comedian duo Penn & Teller .

Private life

On October 11, 2003, in Desert Hot Springs , Hannigan married her fellow actor Alexis Denisof , whom she met on the set of Buffy and who was one of the cast members on the series Angel . The couple has two daughters (* 2009, * 2012).

Dubbing voice

Hannigan has various German dubbing voices. For example, the voice in Buffy the Vampire Slayer is serious-sounding; it comes from Marie Bierstedt . In the four American Pie films she received the dubbing voice of Manja Doering , which sounds a bit shrill, which is supposed to support her slightly strange character in the films. In the series How I Met Your Mother Hannigan was voiced by Angela Wiederhut .
