América Autos SA was a Spanish manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Messrs Irigoyen, Pladellorens and Pazos founded the company in Barcelona in 1913 . Manuel Pazos was the chief designer. In 1917 the production of automobiles began. In 1919 the company exhibited vehicles at the Salón del Automóvil de Barcelona . Production ended in 1922. The brand name was America .

First there was the model type A with a four-cylinder - valve engine and a three-speed transmission, which already had a kind of synchronization. The type B followed in 1919 , also called 6/8 HP . Here a four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 760 cm³ provided the drive. In 1921 the Type C followed, based on the Type B , a sports car also available as a single-seater.
