David Autos Fabricación
The David cars Fabricación SA was a Spanish automobile manufacturer based in Barcelona . He introduced 1913-1923 cyclecars and 1951-1957 light trucks ago.
Cyclecars and Taxis
The cycle cars manufactured at the beginning of the 20th century were designed by José Maria Armangué and had a single-cylinder engine that delivered 6-8 hp (4.4-5.9 kW ) or a four-cylinder engine with 10-12 hp (7.4-8 , 8 kW). They were equipped with an adjustable belt drive that gave the car 16 speed levels. Only the front wheels were braked. Mainly open two-seaters were produced, but there were also models with three seats and closed bodies. In 1923, cycle car production was apparently stopped. From then on, the company manufactured taxi bodies for Citroën chassis and sold them in Spain.
Light vehicles
The production of entire automobiles started again in 1951. A new generation of three-wheeled vehicles developed entirely in-house was built. Its single-cylinder two-stroke engine with a capacity of 345 cm³ developed 10 hp (7.4 kW). Together with the three-speed spur gear (with reverse gear) it formed a unit with the front wheel, so that the engine and gearbox rotated with the steering. All wheels were suspended from leaf springs (front three-quarter elliptic). There was a large car steering wheel and the gearshift lever in the dashboard was guided in an H-backdrop . The brake cables to the rear wheels were routed outside. Various bodies were available, most of them for light commercial vehicles .
Only about 75 small cars were built in seven years.
