history
The Catalan company was founded in 1934 by Luis Rie ra and Jaime Ju anola and, with the exception of the period of the Spanish Civil War, has been active in the market without interruption.
Rieju's headquarters are in Figueres, in the province of Girona . In 2006 the company employed around 150 people. Annual production amounts to up to 20,000 vehicles, most of which are manufactured for the Spanish domestic market, but recently also for export to, for example, Germany , France and Austria .
The production includes scooters , mopeds , bikes , scooters, mini-cross bikes and mopeds in road racing style. Rieju is the market leader in this segment in Spain. The products are and were partly licensed products, but the range also includes in-house developments.
The brand received a further boost after the EnMoto Group decided in 1994 to import Rieju motorcycles to Austria as well. Rieju is currently sold by the EnMoto Group in several European countries.

Automobile production
In 1955 the company showed an automobile at a trade fair in Barcelona . It was a tricycle with the single wheel at the back. A motorcycle engine manufactured in-house, which was mounted in the rear and powered the rear wheel, provided the drive. The body had a fake radiator grille at the front, two side doors that were hinged at the back, a bench for two people and a folding roof. Only a few copies were made.
