Company history

Juan Hurtado González (* 1943) produced a prototype in 1969 . In 1996 he founded the company in Maracena and started producing automobiles. In 2008 the company moved to Santa Fe .

Juan Ignatio, Rosa and Francisco, the children of the company founder, are currently running the business.

vehicles

The company produces vehicles that are visually reminiscent of vehicles from the 1930s and 1950s. The body, dashboard and panels are handcrafted by the company's seven employees. Two to three vehicles leave the factory every month. Around 800 vehicles were created across all models.

In 1997 the two-seater model, the Roadster T2 based on the Renault R4 , was presented. The four-seater model T2 + 2 followed in 2000 . A total of 463 units were built until production was discontinued in 2002 due to increased requirements by the EU with regard to safety and pollutants.

The Albaycín model range was introduced in 2003 and currently includes the Albaycín 2 Plazas , Albaycín 4 Plazas and Grand Albaycín models . Chassis and engines are from Renault Clio . The engines produce between 60 and 178 hp .

To mark the company's 25th anniversary, the sixth model entitled Author was presented. The front transverse four-cylinder turbo has a displacement of 2429 cm³. There are engine variants with 105 kW (143 hp) and 164 kW (223 hp). The five-speed manual or automatic drives the front wheels. With a curb weight of 1580 kg, the vehicle reaches a speed of 100 km / h after 10.3 or 7.5 seconds, the top speed is 185 km / h or 221 km / h. The price range for the 4700 mm long vehicle is between 35,000 and 45,000 euros.

In 2019 the first new vintage models based on Jeep Wrangler Sahara vehicles were built. In Spain these are also run on gas.

The electrically powered Velantur , of which a prototype already exists and which should have a range of 300 kilometers, should go into series production in 2020 .

In 2020 the first Route 44 commercial vehicles based on Fiat Ducato with a 1950s look were delivered. These have a Euro 6 approval with 3.500 kg and 2.300cc and can be used as a delivery vehicle, mobile office or food truck.

Juan Ignatio Hurtado González is also working on a new T2 , which should be ready for the market in 2019. The roadster is built with its own chassis and Ford technology. Gasoline engines with two liters (210 hp) and three liters displacement (326 hp) are planned. These vehicles are intended to appeal to customers in the Arab world.

Hurtan Vintage

Hurtan designs its own Retro Classic bodies, which are built up by hand on used or new so-called donor chassis with gasoline or diesel engines. The old T2 is based on a Renault, the Author a Daimler Chrysler PT Cruiser and the Vintage a Jeep Wrangler. A wide variety of customer requests can be implemented, such as a hardtop Author or a vintage with a sliding roof and large tailgate.

The convertible versions T2 and Author have already been tested and approved by TÜV in Germany. This should also happen with the Vintage model in 2020 . Information is available from the Hurtan Club Germany.
