Automóviles y bumper cars Kapi was a Spanish manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles .
Company history
Federico Saldaña Ramos founded the company in Barcelona in 1950 and began producing automobiles and motorcycles. In 1958 car production ended. The figures for the number of automobiles produced vary between 70 and 300. Including the motorcycles, around 5500 vehicles were produced.
Automobiles
Various small cars were produced , some only as prototypes or in small quantities. Only two models achieved significant numbers. One model was the Kapiscooter , a tricycle with the single wheel in the front. The motor was mounted in the rear and drove the right rear wheel. The engine came either from Montesa or Hispano Villiers and had a displacement of 125 cm³ or 175 cm³ . In 1955 the Jip model appeared with four wheels. It was similar to the jeep . Here, too, a motor with either 125 cm³ or 175 cm³ capacity drove one of the two rear wheels.
A Kapiscooter can be seen in the car museum Collecció d'Automòbils de Salvador Claret in Sils and a jip in the Museo-Colección de Vehículos Históricos in Guadalest .
