Anastassija Wiktoriwna Bryshina ( Ukrainian Анастасія Вікторівна Бризгіна , English transcription Anastasiya Bryzhina; born January 9, 1998 in Luhansk ) is a Ukrainian sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

For the first time at an international championship, Anastassija Bryshina competed at the U18 World Championships in 2015 in Cali over 200 meters and took sixth place in the final with 23.84 seconds. The following year, she was part of the Ukrainian 4-by-400-meter relay for the World Indoor Championships in Portland , where Ukraine finished fifth in 3: 40.42 minutes. At the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz , Poland , she again finished fifth overall with the relay in 3: 33.95 min. In 2017 she qualified with the relay for the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade and won a bronze medal in 3: 32.10 minutes behind the teams from Poland and the United Kingdom. At the U20 European Championships in Grosseto , Bryshina won over 400 meters in 52.01 s as well as with the Ukrainian 4 x 400 meter relay. The season set a new Ukrainian junior record with 3: 32.82 minutes. With her achievements, she also qualified for the World Championships in London . In the individual competition, she was eliminated with 52.26 s in the preliminary round and could not qualify for the final with the Ukrainian relay . A few weeks later, she participated in the World Student Games in Taipei , where she was disqualified with the relay.

In 2018 she again took part in the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham with the Ukrainian relay and reached fourth place in 3: 31.32 minutes. During the outdoor season she qualified for the first time for the European Championships in Berlin , where she was eliminated in the first round with 53.62 seconds. In addition, the Ukrainian quartet was disqualified in the run-up. In the following year Brysjina finished sixth over 400 meters at the U23 European Championships in Gävle in 53.20 seconds and finished fourth in the relay in 3: 34.33 minutes. At the end of October she was eliminated from the military world games in Wuhan in the individual competition with 54.38 s in the first round and won the bronze medal behind the teams from Poland and Russia in 3: 33.68 min.

In 2017, Bryshina became Ukrainian champion with the 4 x 400 meter relay.

Personal

Anastassija Bryshina is the daughter of two Olympic champions from 1988: Wiktor Bryshin (4 x 100 meter relay) and Olha Wladykina-Bryshina (400 meter run, 4 x 400 meter relay). Her sister Jelysaweta Bryshina was already a European and Olympic medalist.
