history
The place was first mentioned in 1679 under the name Angoch ( Ангох ) in a book about the Pustosersk Ostroge and Ujesde .
There are two theories about the origin of the later name Andeg. According to the first of the name comes from the Nenets word Ngandy ( Нганды ) that translates small Njelma (a white salmon subspecies) means. The second theory says that the first settler of the place, astonished by the abundance of fish in the Schorok river, uttered the words "Andeli ospodni" ( "Андели осподни" ; today's Russian Ангелы Господни , German God's angel ), from which the word Andeg later emerged educated.
Andeg was administratively part of the newly created Nenezki nazionalny okrug (today's name Autonomous Okrug) in 1929 . In 1931 a fishing artel was founded in the village , which was later converted into a kolkhoz and has since been the most important employer in the village.
In 1996 the Andegski selsowet was reorganized as a municipality. Since 2006, Andeg, as the center of Andegski selsowet, has been part of the newly created Sapoljarny rajon. Until 2009, the now abandoned village of Naryga ( Нарыга ), located 18 kilometers southwest of Andeg, belonged to the municipality.
