Andrej Aljaksandrawitsch Michaljou ( Belarusian Андрэй Аляксандравіч Міхалёў , Russian Андрей Александрович Михалёв / Andrei Alexandrovich Michaljow * 23. February 1978 in Minsk , Byelorussian SSR ) is a Belarusian ice hockey player who since 2016 again at HC SHAKHTYOR SOLIGORSK from the Belarusian Extraliga is under contract.
In March 2013 he was suspended for a doping offense and two months later he was banned retrospectively for two years.
Career
Andrej Michaljou began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth of Yunost Minsk , he for the first team from 1995 to 1999 in the Eastern European Hockey League was active, where he in 1996/97 in addition to the Chicoutimi Sagueneens from the Canadian top junior league QMJHL and the Nashville Nighthawks from the Central Hockey League stood on the ice. He then moved to Herner EV in the Oberliga Nord , which he left after only one year. After the attacker had started the 2000/01 season with the Bayreuth Tigers in the Oberliga Süd, he ended it with their league rivals Eisbären Regensburg , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga at the end of the season , in which the Belarusian spent a year with Bayern played before returning to his homeland.
In the summer of 2002 Michaljou got a contract with HK Keramin Minsk . With the capital city, the left shooter won the Eeast European Hockey League in 2003 and 2004. In addition, he was with Keramin in the 2007/08 season for the first time in his career Belarusian champion . He was then obliged by their city rivals HK Dinamo Minsk from the newly founded Continental Hockey League , for which he scored a total of 23 scorer points in 55 games in the following season, including 14 goals.
International
For Belarus Michaljou took part in the junior division in the U18 European Junior Championship in 1995 and the U20 Junior C World Championship in 1997 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 and 2011 World Championships and the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver .
Doping with methylhexanamine 2013
During the qualifying tournament for the 2014 Winter Olympics in February 2013, Michaljou tested positive for the stimulant methylhexanamine and was then temporarily banned in early March 2013. He then did not play any more games before he was banned for two years at the end of May of the same year.
Comeback 2015
At the end of January 2015, after his doping ban expired, Michaljou returned to ice hockey and at the end of the season he won another Belarusian championship title with HK Schachzjor Salihorsk . In May of the same year he was obliged again by Dinamo Minsk and completed 53 other KHL games for the club. Since the beginning of the 2016/17 season he has been playing for Shakhtsor Salihorsk again.
