Angus Fraser James Gunn (born January 22, 1996 in Norwich ) is an English football player . He has been under contract with Southampton FC since 2018 and is an English junior international goalkeeper.
Career
society
Angus Gunn, son of former football goalkeeper Bryan Gunn from Scotland and English artist Susan Gunn, began playing football at Norwich City before moving to Manchester City's youth academy in 2011 . According to an association decision, the club paid a sum of £ 250,000 for the change. In June he received a professional contract with a three-year term and was part of the squad several times during the 2016/17 season , but was not used. In the summer of 2017, Gunn returned to Norwich City on loan for the Football League Championship and played his first professional game on matchday one in the away game against Fulham FC . He earned a regular place in his hometown and was used in all point games. At the end of the season, Gunn was voted Player of the Season by the club's fans.
In the summer of 2018, Gunn left Manchester City for good and joined Southampton FC for a transfer fee of £ 13.5m , with whom he signed a five-year deal.
National team
Gunn played four games for the England U16 national team, six for the U17, four for the U19 national team and two for the U20 national team. With the English U21 national team, he took part in the U21 European Championship 2017 in Poland , but was not used. In November 2017, Angus Gunn was invited to the England senior team for the first time for the friendly against Brazil at Wembley Stadium in London . In March 2018 he received an inquiry from the Scottish national team , but decided to pursue a career in the English national team and traveled to the English team's training camp before the 2018 World Cup in Russia .
