Architects' darling
The Architects' Darling is an award for manufacturers and suppliers from the fields of construction, equipment and furnishings, which was donated by Heinze Marktforschung 2011 on the occasion of the company's 50th anniversary and in one of the largest industry surveys in various architecture journals, as well as the Online offer Baudienst.de, is determined from June to September of each year. With this honor, which is divided into different categories, manufacturers and suppliers u. a. for innovation and sustainability. The rental gala takes place annually as part of the " Celler Werktag ", a traditional industry get-together.
The most popular trade fair of the year has also been honored since 2012. In the first year it was BAU , the largest trade fair for architecture, materials and systems in Munich .
idea
Which manufacturers do architects prefer to work with? Who offers the best products and solutions? For the Architects' Darling, the architects and planners can coordinate between all companies in the construction industry in various product areas. These are product awards in areas such as floor coverings, roofs, windows, heating, stairs or thermal insulation. In addition, cross-industry themed awards are to be given in categories such as innovation, best app, sustainability and accessibility.
method
For a period of 4 months (June to September), architects and planners can use a questionnaire to vote for their favorites among the manufacturers every year. The questionnaires can be found in selected journals as well as online. In addition to a popularity scale, the level of awareness of the company is also determined.
Award
At the end of the voting and after the votes have been counted, the winners are determined according to two different criteria, depending on the award: Whoever collects the most votes in a product area receives one of the product awards. Across all sectors, the themed awards are given to the participants with the highest percentage of votes or, as in 2012, by an expert jury. The winners will receive 26 cm tall, handcrafted bronze statues, which will be presented at an official award ceremony.
