Ariostea was an Italian cycling team from 1984 to 1993 . The team was led by Ariostea , an Italian manufacturer of ceramic from Castellarano , province of Reggio Emilia ( region Emilia-Romagna ), sponsored.
history
The then boss of Ariostea Oriello Pederzoli invested in the team led by Giorgio Vannucci . The first small successes were celebrated at Italian road bike races .
After the first two years, Giorgio Vannucci was replaced by Giancarlo Ferretti in 1986 and the first successes, which attracted increased attention, were slowly emerging. At the Giro d'Italia 1986 these were the stage win on the 2nd stage by Sergio Santimaria with a day in Maglia Rosa and the stage win on the 15th stage by Dag Erik Pedersen . In the overall standings, Alfio Vandi finished the Giro d'Italia in 11th place, almost 13 minutes behind the winner Roberto Visentini . A year later, there was another stage victory in the Tour de Suisse
Between 1987 and 1989 the team was able to build on good results from Adriano Baffi , Rolf Sörensen , Bruno Cenghialta and Stephan Joho .
From 1990 the team was to be found on many winner lists, including the Monuments Tour of Flanders , Liège-Bastogne-Liège and Lombardy Tour . But also in other important races such as B. La Flèche Wallonne or the Coppa Sabatini were won. During the big cycling tours, the Italian cycling team focused on the Giro d'Italia, but victories at the Tour de France and the Tour de Suisse were also celebrated, in 1992 and 1993 even the victory of the Tour de Suisse in 1992 and 1993 .
As one of the last races, the team completed the Tour of Lombardy in 1993, in which Pascal Richard won ahead of Giorgio Furlan and gave the team the final victory.
