Arne Kjell Larsen (born December 23, 1937 in Asker ) is a former Norwegian skier who competed internationally in ski jumping and Nordic combined .

Career

Larsen gained his first international success as a special jumper at the Four Hills Tournament in 1956/57 . In the opening competition on the Schattenbergschanze in Oberstdorf he reached rank 38. Just one day later he landed in Innsbruck on the Bergiselschanze in 30th place. In his last jump on the Great Olympic Hill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , he landed 25th place on the best individual ranking of the tour. In the overall standings, Larsen reached rank 30. At the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley , he reached sixth place in the Nordic combined . He was third in ski jumping after the second run before he went into cross-country skiing in seventh place after the third run.

At the 1962 World Championships in Zakopane , he won the title in combination before Dmitri Kotschkin and Ole Henrik Fagerås . In ski jumping, he landed on the large hill is ranked 19th in the same year he won in Skien the national title in ski jumping and in combination. At the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1964 , in contrast to 1960, he could not show any good jumps, but convinced as third in cross-country skiing. In the end, he finished the individual race in fifth place.

In 1965 he received the Holmenkollen Medal together with Arto Tiainen and Bengt Eriksson .

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 1966 , Larsen started again in the Nordic combined and reached 11th place in the individual.
