The Arnstädter Verband (AV) was a corporation association that existed from 1868 to 1933 , after which it was merged into the German Association of Scientists , which is still in existence today and to which it belonged as a founding cartel since 1910.

The AV was originally founded under the name of the Association of Mathematical and Mathematical and Natural Science Associations . The name Arnstadt Association was not officially introduced until 1909, it comes from the conference location Arnstadt in Thuringia, where they have met annually since 1907. In 1910 the AV was one of a total of seven founding cartels of the German Association of Scientists. In 1920 the AV was renamed for the last time, in the Arnstadt Association of Mathematical and Scientific Associations at German Universities in the DWV . In its heyday in the 1920s, the AV comprised twenty connections . In 1924 it had 325 students and 2,000 old men . At the First World War nearly 1000 members participated, of which 250 have fallen. On the 9th Association Day of the DWV in 1933, the remaining cartels AV and 'Dornburg-Kartell' merged and gave up their independence in favor of a unified DWV. The DWV then declared Arnstadt to be its conference venue. The memorial to the fallen soldiers of the Arnstadt Association, inaugurated in 1926, can still be viewed on the Alteburg near Arnstadt.
