Attila Georg Borlan
Attila Georg Borlan , also Attila Borlan , (* 1968 in Hatzfeld , Banat , Socialist Republic of Romania ) is a German actor .
Life
Attila Georg Borlan was born in the German-speaking region of Romania, in the Banat, where he lived until he was 18. He grew up trilingual, with German and Hungarian (both native speakers) and Romanian . After completing his German Abitur in Romania, he came to Germany as a repatriate .
From 1989 to 1992 he completed his artistic training at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin in the subjects of acting, singing and dance. In the field of musicals , he received a sound vocal training there. He later attended acting and film workshops with Frank Betzelt, Tim Garde and Sigrid Andersson.
From January to April 1993 he played Fred in the musical Anything Goes at the Berlin Theater des Westens . In 1993 he was a guest at the Greizer Theaterherbst. For his portrayal of Büchner's title hero in Woyzeck , he was awarded the actor's prize (1st prize) at the Greizer Autumn Theater. In 1995 he appeared in the musical Cabaret at the Bad Hersfeld Festival . In 1996 he played Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet there and also received the audience award at the Bad Hersfeld Festival.
He later had theater engagements in Berlin and Potsdam , a. a. at the Bat-Theater Berlin (2002, as Elector in Der Prinz von Homburg ), at Ballhaus Naunynstrasse (2002) and at the Tribüne (2003–2005, as Marco in Arthur Miller's play Ein Blick von der Brücke ). In 2006/07 he played in the musical Mamma Mia! British banker Harry as the first cast in the Palladium Theater in Stuttgart .
As an actor, Borlan works primarily for film and television. First film works, u. a. in short films, Borlan had already in the early nineties. He took on cinema roles a. a. in the film drama Heimkehr (2003: Director: Damir Lukačević ) and in Blindflug , director Ben von Grafenstein's film debut , where he played together with Michael Rotschopf . In the homosexual drama Freier Fall (2013) he was Werner Brandt's unpleasant trainer.
Regular television work has been part of his field of activity since the mid-1990s. He was often seen in episode roles in television series, where he often had to impersonate unsympathetic characters (rapists, burglars and gangsters). He had performances a. a. in the television series Medicopter 117 - Every Life Counts (2000, as a young activist Achim), Unser Charly (2009, as a burglar Rolf Grosche) and Forsthaus Falkenau (2013, as a criminal Romanian horse dealer Nikolai Dumitru, at the side of Florian Fitz ).
In the Munich Tatort: Klingelingeling (first broadcast: December 2016), he played Josef Waducek, a colleague of Commissioners Batic and Leitmayr , who investigates the homeless and the Romanian gangs of beggars. In the fairy tale film The Cold Heart (2016) he had a supporting role as Citizen Gottlieb. In the ZDF crime series A Strong Team , he also had a supporting role as the Romanian burglar Octav (alongside Alexandru Cirneala ) in the episode Waspennest (first broadcast: October 2017 ).
In October 2017 he was seen in a leading role in the ZDF crime series SOKO Stuttgart ; He played Torben Bilic, the former employee of a metrology company who lost a hand in a serious accident at work and was targeted by the police as a suspect of a murder and kidnapping. In October 2017 Borlan was also seen in the ZDF series SOKO Wismar in a leading role as the shipyard owner Lutz Albers. In the ZDF crime series Kommissarin Lucas , he played one of the episode roles in the 30th film with the title Die Invisbaren (first broadcast: August 2020) as a Romanian foreman who is involved in the illegal business of a Regensburg construction company.
Borlan has also worked as a voice actor and speaker for documentaries , including a. at El Camino - The Way of St. James , a production by WDR .
Borlan is a member of the Federal Drama Association (BFFS). He lives in Tübingen and Berlin.
