geography

The motorway triangle is located northwest of the eponymous municipality Dernbach (Westerwald) , on whose territory it is also located, and east of Ransbach-Baumbach . The closest larger cities are Montabaur and Limburg an der Lahn in the southeast and Koblenz in the southwest.

State of development

Both motorways have six lanes, but the A 48 has no continuous hard shoulder. All ramps have two lanes and allow driving through at high speeds.

particularities

The ICE route Cologne-Frankfurt runs along the A3, which crosses the triangle through a railway tunnel. The motorway triangle lies exactly between the cities of Cologne and Frankfurt am Main .
