Avianova was an Italian regional airline with its seat and base in Rome .
history
Avianova was 1987 in Olbia on Sardinia founded. Flight operations began with three ATR-42s . In 1989 the state owned Alitalia participated in the young company. Shortly afterwards, the company's headquarters were relocated from Olbia to Rome .
In 1995 the company acquired the larger ATR-72 and several Fokker 70s . Two years later, Avianova flew briefly under the Alitalia Express brand before being fully integrated into Alitalia shortly afterwards.
