Bülent Tüfenkci

Bülent Tüfenkci (born April 26, 1966 in Yeşilyurt ) is a Turkish politician of the Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi (AKP). From November 2015 to July 2018 he was Minister of Customs and Trade of Turkey. The spelling “Tüfenkçi” is often used.

Career

Tüfenkci completed middle school and high school at the İmam-Hatip-Gymnasium in his hometown of Yeşilyurt. Tüfenkci studied law at the University of Ankara and graduated with a master's degree. Subsequently, Tüfenkci practiced as a lawyer in the capital of his home province Malatya . In 2001 he participated in the founding of the AKP in Malatya and was chairman of the AKP in Malatya Province from 2011 to 2015. In the parliamentary elections in June 2015 and November 2015 , Tüfenkci was elected as a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey . From November 2015 Tüfenkci was Minister for Customs and Trade. Even after changing the office of prime minister, he remained a minister in the Yıldırım cabinet .

Tüfenkci is married and has two children.

Tüfenkci's statements

Bülent Tüfenkci explained during the internal party candidacy process for the line-up of the AKP's MPs in March 2015 that the Jewish lobby and the interest lobby in particular tried to use the dollar to bring Turkey to reason.

After the attempted coup in Turkey in 2016 , Tüfenkci stated that there are around 8,000 companies in Turkey that either financially support the terrorist organization FETÖ or are believed to be doing so. These companies will be investigated.
