Geographical location
Belvidere is located in the north of Lamoille County, in a rugged part of the Green Mountains , on the border with Franklin County and is traversed by the North Branch Lamoille River in a westerly direction. The area of the town is very hilly, the highest mountain is the 1014 m high Cold Hollow Mountains High Poind in the north

Belvidere is divided into two small hamlets ; Belvidere Junction also called Belvidere Corners and Belvidere Center .

history
The Grant for Belvidere was given on March 5, 1787 to the land speculator John Kelley of New York City. This was established on November 4, 1791. The town originally comprised 31,100 acres (126 km² ). On November 15, 1824 part of the area for the establishment of the Town Waterville was ceded and on October 28, 1828 further area was given to the Town of Eden. So that Belvidere now covers almost 20,000 acres (81 km²). Settlement began around 1800.
The Town House was built in 1853.
There are several covered bridges in Belvidere that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places . The Mill Covered Bridge and the Morgan Covered Bridge .
