Ruwerwein
Ruwerwein describes the wine that is made on the slopes of the lower Ruwer valley near Trier . The Ruwer is a tributary of the Moselle . The vineyards are part of the Moselle wine-growing region , which until spring 2007 was called "Mosel-Saar-Ruwer". Since 1998, the Ruwertal area , later the Ruwer area , has been one of the six wine-growing areas of the Moselle wine-growing region.
history
Wine has been grown on the Ruwer since Roman times. Evidence for this is the relief winegrower in the Weinkontor , which was found near a mill in Mertesdorf and has been dated to the 2nd century .
