Bernhard Haßlberger (born October 30, 1946 in Ruhpolding ) is auxiliary bishop in Munich and Freising .

Life

After attending school in Traunstein, Bernhard Haßlberger studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich from 1968 to 1976 . He was there in 1976 with the work of hope in distress: a form-critical investigation of Dan 8 and 10 to 12 for a doctor of theology doctorate . On 25 June 1977 he received in Freising Cathedral by the Archbishop Joseph Ratzinger , the ordination . First as a chaplain in the pastoral care in Dachau (1977–1980) and Munich-Moosach (1980–1982) he was head of the diocesan office for professions of the church from 1982 to 1985 and from 1982 to 1987 sub-rain of the archbishop's seminary in Munich . From 1987 to 1994 he was director of the Cardinal Döpfner House in Freising and rector of the Freising Cathedral, and from 1991/1992 he was acting director of the Institute for Theological and Pastoral Training in Freising .

May 31, 1994 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Octaba and auxiliary bishop in the archdiocese of Munich and Freising. The episcopal ordination received his Cardinal Friedrich Wetter on 29 June of the same year; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishops Franz Schwarzenböck and Engelbert Siebler . He was appointed episcopal vicar for the pastoral care region of the north of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising and accepted as cathedral chapter in the Munich metropolitan chapter . Effective 1 January 2013 appointed him Reinhard Cardinal Marx to the provost of the Munich Metropolitan Chapter.

Since 1994 he has been the representative of the Bavarian Bishops 'Conference for police pastoral care in Bavaria, since 1996 the representative of the Bavarian Bishops' Conference for youth issues. From 1995 to 2011 he was head of the liturgy and church music department of the Archbishop's Office in Munich. In the German Bishops' Conference he is a member of the Commission for Societal and Social Issues , the Universal Church Commission , the Sub-Commission for Mission Issues (especially MISSIO) and the Sub-Commission for Central and Eastern Europe (especially RENOVABIS) .

Bernhard Haßlberger is an honorary member of the K.St.V. Isaria in the KV zu Freising-Weihenstephan and since 1996 honorary member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Agilolfia zu Freising-Weihenstephan in the CV . In 2003 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon . In 2013 he was appointed provost of the cathedral.
