Virtual vocational training center
Many young people with disabilities are dependent on an intact home environment and need constant caregivers, for example. Other restrictions can also affect vocational training in the “classic” vocational training center or even make it impossible. The Neckargemünd vocational training center has been training this group of people in the virtual vocational training center (VBBW) using e-learning since 2000 . The online training courses also lead to a regular qualification from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Training and vocational school lessons take place in virtual group rooms. There the trainees work interactively with trainers and teachers, discuss online and solve tasks together.
The following professions are offered at VBBW: IT specialist, office worker, industrial clerk, clerk for office management, technical product designer.
Vocational preparation
The vocational preparation should enable the start of vocational training or a professional activity. In an aptitude analysis, strengths and weaknesses are first diagnosed, then the individual support for each participant is determined in a qualification plan.
During the basic level, the participants get to know different professions. In the support level or transition qualification, specific preparation for vocational training or a professional activity takes place. This also includes company internships and application training.
During the vocational preparation there is the possibility to catch up on the secondary school leaving certificate.
professional school
At the private, state-recognized vocational school, small classes are taught in an action-oriented and project-oriented manner , so that the teachers can respond to each student individually. The lessons combine the imparting of theoretical specialist knowledge with practical training content and promote technical , methodological and social skills .
There are remedial courses and additional offers for students with learning difficulties and high-performing students. Apprentices who are suitable for this can acquire the technical college entrance qualification during their training . Additional qualifications such as courses to acquire the European Computer Driving License (ECDL), CISCO certificate or hydraulic courses complement the vocational offer.
The vocational school has been recognized as a UNESCO project school since 2010 .
In individual training courses, the trainees attend a public vocational school.
Commercial-technical vocational school
The 2-year private, state-recognized vocational school at the Neckargemünd vocational training center offers young people with and without disabilities the opportunity to acquire a subject-related secondary school leaving certificate. The so-called Fachschulreife entitles you to attend secondary schools such as the vocational college or vocational high schools . In the event of subsequent training, the vocational school can be recognized as the first year of training under certain conditions.
Living as a place of learning
The job of the vocational training center is to support young adults in their personal development and independence in addition to their technical and academic qualifications so that they can not only master their work on the primary job market, but also their everyday lives. The training company accompanies and advises the young adults in their health management, supported by learning opportunities, social skills training and ensures that they feel confident in independent housekeeping.
The vocational training center offers various forms of living and care. In the boarding schools, the trainees live in single and double rooms. In the vicinity there are assisted living communities and individual apartments, as well as a boarding house.
The care offer ranges from advice on questions of life and household management to intensive support in personal daily routine.
For leisure activities, the vocational training center has a sports field and sports hall, bowling alley, archery range and exercise pool, a media library and a disco as well as several workshops (wood, ceramics, music, media workshops).
