Bess demnähx ( Kölsch for “See you soon”) is the first live album by the Cologne rock band BAP . It was released in 1983 by EMI Electrola and was number one in the German album charts for a week from August 26 to September 1 .

The live album is a compilation of eleven concerts recorded during the Vun drinne noh drusse tour. BAP originally wanted to release a live triple album, which the record company declined for financial reasons. It was agreed to press the double album using the DMM process (Direct Metal Mastering) in order to have the total running time of around 100 minutes for the up to 3.5 hours of live concert on the album.

During the tour, the drummer Wolfgang “Wolli” Boecker was replaced by Jan Dix .

From Bess Demnähx there, unlike the studio albums of BAP, not remastered version.

Songs

Thirteen of the total of eighteen songs by Bess demnähx were taken from the four studio albums that had been released up to then. The album Vun drinne noh drusse, which was current at the time, was the strongest represented with six pieces. Three songs are from Für usszeschnigge! and two each from the first two LPs ... rocks other Cologne Leeder and Affjetaut .

The remaining five tracks were new or cover versions. Remember? and Nemm mich met were created during the Vun drinne noh drusse tour and were immediately added to the live repertoire. At Su 'ne Morje is a cover of Bob Dylan's One Too Many Mornings . Et last Leed had been part of BAP's live repertoire for several years, but had never made it onto any of their previous studio albums. For Hundertmohl no acceptable live version could be recorded during the eleven recorded concerts, whereupon the decision was made to make a studio recording, which then ended the album as the last song.
