Sonx is the 14th studio album by the Cologne rock band BAP . It was released by EMI in 2004 and reached number three on the German album charts . The tour for the album took place between March and May 2004.

occupation

When Sheryl Hackett ( percussions ) left and Jens Streifling (wind instruments, guitar) switched to the Cologne band Höhner , BAP had shrunk to a quintet in 2003 .

Songs and album art

The songs on the album revolve around the core theme of "love, faith, hope". The first song on the album How, where and when? vividly describes these three topics. Rövver noh Tanger and I wish you wöhrs he treat the subject of Morocco like the song Paar Daach fröher from the album Pik Sibbe (1993) . On the one hand, they describe the journey there and tell of the country and its people, of customs and traditions. Whenever you nit wiggerweiß , the album's first pre-release single, is about friendship and trust. In aimlessly Absolutely it comes to escape from the confines of everyday life. It describes the memories of former friends who are now scattered in the wind. Unger Linde enn Berlin tells the impressions and events in January 1984, when BAP decided to cancel the GDR tour in 1984 in the hotel Unter den Linden in East Berlin . For Maria is a love song and describes the common path and the longed-for future in a kind of road movie .

The album cover shows a close-up of a golden pin on Wolfgang Niedecken's jacket, with the symbols heart (love), cross (faith) and anchor (hope).

criticism

Joachim Gauger from laut.de awards three out of five stars. He notes that better and weaker tracks alternate on the album. Rövver nach Tanger live from impressive bass and choral singing in a successful refrain, while the songwriter Schmonzette Maria [written by Niedecken] is annoying with a stiff-hipped rhythm and howling and yet horribly banal guitar cum. I wish, do wöhrs he falls a little out of the ordinary with its syncopated rhythm , before Whenever you don't wigger white and Et es over with catchy melodies and charming major / minor changes, go back to rock music .
