Three times ten years is the fifteenth studio album by the Cologne rock band BAP . It was released by EMI in 2005 and reached number 7 on the German album charts .

The album was released on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of BAP's first steps as a band. In order not to simply put on a best-of album, the decision was made to re-record all of the pieces in completely new arrangements. In the years since the studio versions were recorded, many of the songs have been changed in one way or another at the concerts by the band's frequently changing line-ups, or have been adapted through more recent arrangements.

Songs and covers

The album includes two completely new pieces with Dreimohl ten Johre and Sewing Text City , plus the cover version Hollywood Boulevard (original title Celluloid Heroes ) by the Kinks, with Ray Davies singing along. All other contributions are new recordings of already published and well-known songs by BAP, whereby every previous studio album with the exception of the first … rocks other kölsche Leeder is represented with corresponding songs.

From Affjetaut (1980) Nobody can help you , Anna and Ne Schöne Jrooss , while Für usszeschnigge! (1981) the pieces Verdamp long ago , Jraaduss and Frau, ich am glad contributed. Verdamp has long been available in two versions, one in (almost) pure High German together with Thomas D from the Fantastischen Vier and a version in “Vollkölsch”. There are also three tracks from the hit album Vun drinne noh drusse from 1982 ( Wellenreiter , Kristallnaach and Do kanns zaubere ). Laith Al-Deen supports the group at Kristallnaach .

Nemm mich met comes from the first live album Bess demnähx and appears here for the second time as a studio version after 1999 on sound film . The 1984 album Zwesche Salzjebäck un Bier is represented by the BAP live classic Alexandra, nit only do , while Time is cash, time is money and Ahl Männer, aalglatt come from the album Ahl Männer, aalglatt . The former was recorded with Culcha Candela .

To be continued with the support of Nino Skrotzki from Virginia Jetzt! re-recorded and was originally on the album Da Capo (1988). The 1990 album X for 'e U contributed with Alles em Lot and Denn we are again who two songs. Just like the album Pik Sibbe from 1993 with Paar Daach fröher , where Meret Becker shares the vocals with Wolfgang Niedecken, and Widderlich, which was recorded by the H-Blockx with the help of Henning Wehland . The next piece, but out of the order of the albums, comes Rita, mir Zwei , which appeared on Tonfilm (1999) and is sung here together with Hubert von Goisern in an Austro-Cologne co-production.

The next two tracks Amerika and Nix wie bessher come from the America album (1996). This is followed by Lena (together with Marta Jandová from Die Happy ) and Ahnundfürsich, two songs from the 1999 anniversary album Comics & Pin-Up , the last of the “major era”. With you alone , Wolfgang Niedecken shares the vocals with Xavier Naidoo ; it comes with the title track of the same name from the album Aff un zo (2001). The last two pieces from the Sonx album (2004) are Rövver noh Tanger and unger Krahnebäume . The album ends with Herbert Grönemeyer's birthday song Once only in our life .

The cover is designed similar to that of the 1993 studio album Pik Sibbe . The current cast was painted in a caricature style by artist Sebastian Krüger . The standard CD shows the band as it looks in 2005 on the front, while the special edition shows the band as it would have looked in 1976. The front and back of the two versions are shown reversed.

Three times ten years tour 2005/2006

In January 2006, on the occasion of the start of the anniversary concerts for the band's 30th anniversary, the Kölnarena was almost sold out with 25,000 spectators on two consecutive days.
