Vun drinne noh drusse ( Kölsch for “From inside to outside”) is the fourth album by the Cologne rock band BAP . It was released by EMI Electrola in 1982 and was number 1 in the German album charts for nine weeks . With around one million records sold, it is BAP's most successful album to date.

Creation and publication

For the first time in the band history of BAP there were no personnel changes compared to the previous album when recording Vun drinne noh drusse . The album was recorded and mixed in July 1982 in Hennef (Sieg) in the Rüssmann recording studio. In commercial terms, Vun drinne noh drusse surpassed the success of the previous album Für usszeschnigge! . It reached the top of the German album charts immediately after its release and pushed Für usszeschnigge to second place.

The live dress rehearsal for the songs by Vun drinne noh drusse took place on August 28, 1982 on the Loreley open-air stage as part of the Rockpalast . BAP was the first German band to play here in the Rockpalast concert series together with Rory Gallagher , Eric Burdon and David Lindley .

The cover photo shows a night shot of the freight hall of the former Ahrdorf train station in the Eifel. Through the open gate you can see into the illuminated hall. In the unfolded album, you can see additional large-format pictures of the interior of the hall with musicians, instruments and parts of a sound system . After Ahrhütte the band had retreated to the sample early 80s.

Songs

Ten of the eleven songs are original compositions that are stylistically close to the previous LP Für usszeschnigge! lean on. Rock songs ( Kristallnaach , June 10th , Nit for Kooche (Part 2) , When et Bedde is worth it ) alternate with rock ballads ( wave riders , Do can magic , Ahn 'ner guard rail , one for Carmen un en island , Koot for Aach ) .

For the first time on a BAP LP, a song was sung by a guest; Birgit van der Most took over the solo vocals in the anti-carnival song Nit for Kooche (part 1) . The title Wie 'ne Stein is a cover version of Bob Dylan's Like A Rolling Stone . Kristallnaach / Wellenreiter was the only single release from the album.
