Biketawa is an island that belongs to the Tarawa Atoll in the Gilbert Islands in the Republic of Kiribati .

geography

Biketawa is a motu on the eastern arm of the reef crest. Together with Manra and Ouba , the island is located in an area with numerous channels that provide access between the ocean and the Abaiang Lagoon . In contrast to the neighboring Motu (including Nabeina and Kainaba ), the island is offset towards the interior of the atoll, to the south.

history

In 2000, the Biketawa Declaration on Security in the Pacific Region was passed on the island .
