The Diocese of Suchitepéquez-Retalhuleu ( lat. : Dioecesis Suchitepequensis-Retalhulensis ) is in Guatemala situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Mazatenango . It includes the departments of Suchitepéquez and Retalhuleu .
history
Pope John Paul II founded the Diocese Suchitepéquez-Retalhuleu on December 31, 1996 with the Apostolic Constitution Ad aptius consulendum from cession of territory from the Archdiocese of Los Altos Quetzaltenango-Totonicapán , to which it was also subordinated as a suffragan diocese. Pablo Vizcaíno Prado has been bishop since it was founded .
