Björn J: son Lindh (born October 25, 1944 as Björn Lindh in Arvika ; † December 21, 2013 in Nora ) was a Swedish eclectic prog rock musician ( flute , keyboards , arrangement ), who also worked as a film composer and symphonic and chamber music wrote.

Live and act

J: son Lindh received music lessons from 1962 at the music academy in Ingesund, a little outside his hometown. Between 1963 and 1971 he studied piano and flute at the Royal Stockholm University of Music . Lindh began his career while studying; he first played as a pop musician in the band Atlantic Ocean and also worked as a studio musician.

His debut album Ramadan was released in 1971, and internationally the following year. More albums followed. On his fusion album Bike Voyage II, which was recorded for Sonet Records in Stockholm in 1978 , he included guitarist Janne Schaffer , synthesizer player Pete Robinson, bassist Stefan Brolund, drummer Jon Christensen and percussionists such as Okay Temiz and Malando Gassama, however also the saxophonist Lennart Åberg . In 1973 he founded the Hörselmat band with Janne Schaffer, whom he also accompanied on his first own albums. He also began to compose film scores, for example for the crime film Der Mann auf dem Dach (1976) by Bo Widerberg .

During the 1970s he also worked as a studio musician in groups such as Jason's Fleece, Handgjort, Baltik or Ablution . Although primarily a flautist, Lindh often played the piano, Fender Rhodes , various synthesizers and synclavier . Ralph Lundsten also got him for recordings. In the 1980s he also worked with the classical pianist Staffan Scheja (Europa suite) .

In 1984 J: son Lindh played the flute solo on Murray Head's hit One Night in Bangkok . He was also on the album Islands by Mike Oldfield involved. He also composed in a classical context and for church choirs.
