The place was built in 1953 as a miners' settlement for the nearby coal shafts No. 6 and No. 7 as planned under Soviet rule on the parish of Bilytschi (Біличі) as Shovtnewoje or Ukrainian Shovtnewe (Жовтневе). Since 1956 the place has the status of an urban-type settlement, in 1991 the settlement was part of the newly formed Ukraine. On May 12, 2016 the place was renamed Blahodatne as part of the Ukrainian decommunization .
