Bolatice (German Bolatitz , older also Poletitz (1349)) is a municipality in the Hultschiner Ländchen in the Czech Republic . It is located 13 km east of Opava , on the former railway to Racibórz (which today only goes to Chuchelná ), not far from the border with Poland , and belongs to the Okres Opava .
history
The first recorded mention of Bolatitz comes from a document with which Pope Innocent IV gave the village to the Velehrad monastery in 1250 .
Bolatice in the Silesian district of Ratibor belonged to the Hultschiner Ländchen and was part of the Kingdom of Prussia since 1742 . In 1920, it was in accordance with the Treaty of Versailles to the Czechoslovakia ceded.
As a result of the Munich Agreement , the place became part of the German Reich again in 1938 and since the end of the Second World War it became Czech again in 1945.
Community structure
Since 1893 the village Borová (German Henneberg , Czech 1921-1945 Heneberky ), which was founded by the brothers Eugen and Alois Henn von Henneberg on June 3, 1786, has been part of the village .
Attractions
The baroque-style castle with a stone portal was built in the years 1724–1748 and now serves as the town hall.
The Church of St. Stanislaus , Patron of Poland , was built in 1703 after the village was visited by the Polish King Jan Sobieski in 1682 .
