Boris Amromin (born January 14, 1975 ; also known as Boris Amronin) is an Israeli ice hockey goalkeeper who has won the Israeli championship several times and is internationally active for the Israeli national team .

Career

When the first Israeli ice hockey championship was played in the 1993/94 season , the goalkeeper of Russian origin was already one of the top performers and won his first championship title in the HC Haifa jersey . He was also named the best goalkeeper in the Israeli championship in his debut season. Until 2002 he worked for HC Haifa without interruption. For the 2002/03 season he ventured abroad and hired the Bulgarian club HK Levski Sofia , with which he won the Bulgarian championship . Amromin then returned to Haifa. Another title win, now with the Haifa Hawks , was won in the 2005/06 season . In the playoff final, which ended with a 5-0 win over HC Bat Yam II , he held 33 shots for a shutout . The championship team, which was almost exclusively made up of Russian-born players, included Amromin and Israel’s national players Eduard Revniaga , Sergei Belo and Artyom Korotin . In the following season the title was successfully defended by a final victory against HC Metulla and again Amromin was instrumental in winning the title, as he parried the shooting attempts of Ivan Maklakov and Yevgeni Kniter in the shootout . In 2008 he won the Hawks' last championship to date.

Amromin has been the Haifa Hawks' player-coach since 2012.

International

Amromin has taken part in 18 world championships for Israel so far. He had his first assignment at the C World Championship in 1993 . In 1994 and 1995 he had to compete with his team in the C2 group. 1997 , 1998 and 1999 he was in the D-World Championships in the squad, but he only came in 1998 to missions. After switching to the current division system, he first played in 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2004 and 2005 in Division II. At the 2005 World Cup, which Israel finished in first place in Group B and thus rose to Division I, Amromin was second Goalkeeper and was not used as a back-up for Yevgeny Gussin . He also took part in the Division I World Championship in 2006 . In the first game against Germany he came on the ice as a replacement for Yevgeny Gussin for the last third and conceded two goals with 24 shots on goal. The match ended with an 11: 2 victory for Germany and after the end of the tournament Israel relegated to Division II. There he only played again in 2009 . At the 2010 World Cup he formed a duo with Avihu Sorotzky . However, since both conceded an average of ten goals per game, Israel rose to Division III for the 2011 World Cup . Amromin was again called up to the Israeli squad, but was back-up behind Avihu Sorotzky. He was immediately promoted to Division II, in which he then played in 2012 , 2014 and 2015 .
