Boris Hilbert

Boris Hilbert (born July 24, 1976 in Ratzeburg ) is a German theater producer and tour operator .

Life and career

Boris Hilbert was born the son of a pastor. He spent part of his childhood in the Solling boarding school and graduated from the Philippinum Grammar School (Marburg) . At the Royal Holloway, University of London , he studied business administration and marketing as well as law in Germany.

Hilbert gained his first touring experience during his school days: as the bassist of the formation The Dice , he released two records ( Rough Trade , Sony Music Publishing) and toured Germany and France. At the age of 18 he worked as a studio bassist for the British composer and singer Steve McEwan on his solo album ( Arista Records , London). During and after high school time Hilbert worked temporarily for a technical production company as a stagehand and later lighting of nationwide stage productions. At the same time he was responsible for the promotion and program planning of a live club and marketed guest performances by Mark Spoon , Blümchen , Die Schröders, among others . As part of this activity, a well-known Hamburg management company became aware of Hilbert and recruited him as a promoter.

In 1996 Hilbert switched to artist management AB Glanz Entertainment GmbH (Hamburg) and became tour manager, booker and press promoter for the artist Blümchen ( Jasmin Wagner ) and other artists in the company. In addition, he worked as a press promoter for a Hamburg music promotion agency , including for international products from Mercury Records .

In 1998 he became the managing founding partner of the international artist agency Booking Factory Hamburg Artists Agency GmbH, a joint venture with HHAM Artist Management GmbH, managing the artist Heath Hunter & The Pleasure Company ( Revolution in Paradise ). The Booking Factory also had Kid Creole & the Coconuts and Fun Factory in its range.

At the same time, Boris Hilbert built up his sole proprietorship BO Unterhaltungsproduktion (later renamed), with which he initially specialized in the production of stage programs for marketing events and the cruise industry. As an agent, Hilbert also marketed artists and shows such as Olivia Jones , the internationally touring show The Golden Spaceriders - Interplanetary 70's Disco Show and The Divas from London.

Boris Hilbert and his company produced live entertainment for companies and institutions - including LOEWE Opta, Hewlett-Packard, Katjes, O2 Germany, Commerzbank and the European Central Bank. This included B. the stage production for the nationwide roadshow LOEWE World Experience - A Passage to all Senses , a campaign that received international awards. Boris Hilbert's company was also responsible for the production of the musical stage programs for the first club ship in the AIDA fleet (now AIDAcara ).

From 2000 to 2002 Boris Hilbert was also the managing partner of EVENTURE WORLD Veranstaltungen GmbH (Hamburg), a project company for the implementation of society events in Hamburg. Hilbert also worked as a concept developer and consultant for staging live communication ; among others on behalf of communication agencies such as FCBi Germany (today Draftfcb Worldwide ) and companies such as Schüco International or LOEWE Opta.

In 2001, the Hamburg Authority for Schools and Vocational Training awarded Hilbert the technical aptitude for training in the state-recognized apprenticeship as an event manager . He is also the developer of a coaching program for artists entitled Art comes from ability - success too! which has been offered since 2002. Boris Hilbert wrote as a guest columnist in the trade magazine Event Partner.

Working as a theater producer

Since 2006 Boris Hilbert has been intensifying his activities around international tour productions and work as a theater producer and tour promoter . The name of his unchanged company was adapted to Hilbert Concerts, the headquarters moved to Berlin in 2011.

Since then, Boris Hilbert has produced various international stage productions as a theater producer with a focus on dance and music theater . These are placed on international tours through theaters and halls in Germany and other European countries. Boris Hilbert's company not only has its own productions but also various prominent co-productions in its program.

In 2017 Hilbert Productions GmbH (Berlin) was founded, which is managed by Boris Hilbert as managing partner.

The in-house productions of Boris Hilbert and his companies have so far included Rent (musical) , Aida (opera) , Celtic Tap , CIRQUE SUSUMA , Berlin Cabaret . On a European tour, The Soweto Society presents Spiritual Singers (Johannesburg).
