Charles Bradley "Brad" Marsh (born March 31, 1958 in London , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who in the course of his active career between 1974 and 1993, among other things, 1183 for the Atlanta Flames , Calgary Flames , Philadelphia Flyers , Toronto Maple Leafs , Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators has played in the National Hockey League on the position of fullback . Marsh, who in 1993 at the NHL All-Star Game took part, was in the 1980/81 season , the first captain of the Calgary Flames.
Career
Brad Marsh began his career as a hockey player in his hometown with the London Knights , for which he was active from 1974 to 1978 in the Ontario Major Junior Hockey League . In his final junior year he received the Max Kaminsky Trophy as the best defender of the OMJHL and was elected to the league's first all-star team. He was then selected in the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft in the first round as the eleventh player of the Atlanta Flames .
For the team he was on the ice for two years in the National Hockey League . When the franchise was relocated, the defender initially ran for Atlanta's successor team, the Calgary Flames . In November 1981 he was given in exchange for Mel Bridgman within the NHL to the Philadelphia Flyers . At the Flyers he was one of the leading players for seven years. He then spent two and a half years with the Toronto Maple Leafs and one and a half years with the Detroit Red Wings . Most recently, the Canadian was in the 1992/93 season for the NHL newcomer Ottawa Senators on the ice. In his last NHL season he also took part in the 1993 NHL All-Star Game . He then ended his career at the age of 35.
International
For Canada , Marsh took part in the U20 World Junior Championships in 1977 and 1978 . He was also in his country's squad at the 1979 World Cup .
