Bradley Staubitz (born July 28, 1984 in Edmonton , Alberta ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has played for EV Landshut in the DEL2 in the position of right winger since October 2014 .
Career
Staubitz began his junior career at the age of 17 with Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the Ontario Hockey League . After he had only managed three goal preparations in 45 games in his rookie season , he increased continuously in the following two seasons. The change from the Greyhounds to the Ottawa 67’s during the 2004/05 season did not prevent the development of a solid offensive defender either, as he was able to increase his points for the fourth year in a row. In the playoffs of the 2004/05 season he collected 20 scorer points in 21 games and played a key role in reaching the final series, where the 67's were subject to the London Knights .
Undrafted , the San Jose Sharks took him before the 2005/06 season for their then farm team in the American Hockey League , the Cleveland Barons , under contract. As before in the OHL, Staubitz initially had problems getting used to the game in the higher-class league and mostly only noticed many penalties in his first year. After the Barons had moved from Cleveland to Worcester in the summer of 2006 and were renamed Worcester Sharks , he went on the ice for them from the 2006/07 season . An injury to his right shoulder in November 2006 forced him to take a long break, which meant that he had to miss almost 30 games and was unable to develop further. In the 2007/08 season he finally made his breakthrough as an offensive defender in the AHL, but was also converted to a left winger over the course of the season.
After he had long been a promising candidate for a place in the NHL squad in the training camp of the San Jose Sharks, he was sent back to the farm team in the AHL at the start of the season. Shortly after the start of the season in October 2008, however, he was first ordered to San Jose and ultimately completed 35 NHL games. At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he finally made the final leap into the National Hockey League and played in 47 games. He scored six points. On June 21, 2010, he was submitted to the Minnesota Wild for a five-round suffrage in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft .
On February 27, 2012, the Montréal Canadiens selected the actor on the waiver list and secured his services. As a free agent , he was awarded a two-year contract by the Anaheim Ducks in early July 2012 .
At the beginning of the 2013/14 season , Staubitz was transferred from the NHL squad to the Norfolk Admirals in the American Hockey League . In November 2013 he was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs together with Peter Holland , while Anaheim received Jesse Blacker and a third- and seventh-round draft pick for the 2014 Entry Draft. Dustitz was transferred directly to the Toronto Marlies in the AHL .
In October 2014, the winger signed a one-year contract with German second division club EV Landshut . For Staubitz it is the first job in Europe.
