Jury and moderation
At the end of season eight, there were a lot of rumors about who will be on the jury next year. On June 7 and 8, 2014, it was reported that Simon Cowell and David Walliams would step down from the jury. However, on October 31, 2014, Amanda Holden confirmed that all four jurors who were on the 2014 jury will return to Britain's Got Talent in 2015 . This was later confirmed by ITV. The moderation also remained unchanged.

concept
The concept remains the same in the ninth season as in previous years.
People of all ages can take part in the show. People can appear individually or in a group. The candidates appear in front of the jury and the audience with a program of their choice, such as singing or a dance performance. The judges can operate a red buzzer during the performance to indicate that they do not like the performance. If all jurors have activated the buzzer, the candidate must stop his presentation. At the end of the performance, the jurors rate the candidate with a “Yes” or “No”. If the candidate has received a yes from at least two of the jurors, he may appear again in the next round. In the eighth season, the so-called Golden Buzzer was introduced. If this is activated by a jury member, the act concerned immediately qualifies for the semifinals. The golden buzzer can only be pressed once per judge in a season.
At the beginning of the show there are recorded auditions in which the jurors decide on the progress of the candidates. In the last episode before the live shows it will be announced which acts have qualified for the semifinals. Later the viewer can vote on the qualifiers for the final, which takes place on the Sunday of the same week, in live broadcasts, which are broadcast from Monday to Friday. Here the audience can determine the winner of the show. The winner of the show will receive £ 250,000 in prize money and will be allowed to appear in the Royal Variety Performance .

Controversy
Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon
Ofcom , the UK media regulator , received several letters of complaint about short dresses worn by judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon during a live broadcast. Viewers complained that the dresses were too short and suggestive for a family show. An Ofcom spokesman confirmed that the complaints are being investigated. A few weeks later it was reported that the authorities had decided that the clothes were appropriate.
Lorraine Bowen
The musician Leah Pettinger accused Lorraine Bowen, for whom David Walliams operated the golden buzzer, of plagiarism. She claimed the song The Crumble Song was hers, not Bowen. She threatened legal consequences for the singer, but she did not file a complaint.
Marc Métral
The British animal welfare organization Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals investigated Marc Métral after he was accused of abusing his dog, Wendy. There were also letters of complaint to ITV and Ofcom . The complaints were filed because the dog was wearing a mask that Métral operated with a remote control that caused the dog's mouth to move. The RSPCA investigated because they believed it was doing some harm to Wendy. Simon Cowell asked the organization to attend rehearsals for the semi-finals. Afterwards she announced that the dog would not be harmed by the mask and that it was "happy and looked after well" ( German : happy and well cared for ).
