Bronetransportjor ( Russian бронетранспортёр ) or BTR ( Russian БТР ) is the Russian name for a family of Soviet or Russian / Ukrainian armored personnel carriers . It means "armored transporter".

BTR-3

The BTR-4 "Bukephalos" is an eight-wheeled (8 × 8), all-wheel drive, amphibious armored personnel carrier from Ukrainian production. The BTR-4 was developed by the Ukrainian armaments company KMDB without a state tender.

The BTR-152, sometimes referred to as SIS-152, is an armored personnel carrier made by the Soviet manufacturer Zavod imeni Stalina , or SIS for short. In the National People's Army of the GDR, the wheeled armored vehicle was listed as SPW-152.

BTR-T

The BTR-T is a heavy Russian infantry fighting vehicle based on a modified T-55 chassis. This makes the BTR-T the only BTR with a chain drive .
