Seven-tube fountain 1541/1904 The fountain, originally called the Kirchbrunnen , was built around 1541 by Balthasar Wolff . The fountain presumably contained the source that gave the city of Heilbronn its name. In 1809 the historic fountain structure was destroyed by vandals. When further wells were drilled in the area as industrialization began , the well dried up. In 1868 the sporadically flowing spring outlet was diluted and the well completely demolished. In 1904 the fountain was reconstructed at a slightly offset location based on the fragments and old illustrations. The fountain was badly damaged in the air raid on Heilbronn in December 1944, and the subsequent reconstruction was largely based on the reconstruction from 1904. Cäcilienbrunnen 1589 When the Heilbronn Council had the Silchenbrunnen redesigned, which was located in the south-east of the city, master builder Hans Stefan built a new two-story stone fountain house in 1589, which has also been called Cecilia fountain since the 17th century . The water from the well was led into the city via a 2.5 km long, wooden pond pipe , where it supplied around 30 cisterns and six wells. The Cäcilienbrunnen was the most important facility for the city's water supply until the municipal waterworks were built in 1875. Heilbronn-caecilienbrunnen.JPG
Hafenmarktbrunnen 1593/1955 The fountain at the harbor market was built by Jakob Müller in 1593 . The early modern fountain was destroyed in the air raid on Heilbronn on December 4, 1944 , and in 1955 the Stuttgart sculptor Ernst Yelin created a new fountain that, like the historical fountain, shows Saint George fighting the dragon. The well box has the shape of a three-part rosette. Heilbronn-Hafenmarktbrunnen-detail.JPG
Fleinertorbrunnen 1591/1601 The fountain column was created in 1601 by Jakob Müller with a statue of Fortuna , the ornaments on the fountain case come from the 18th century. The well was fed with water from the Cäcilienbrunnen via a wooden pipe . The name of the fountain is reminiscent of the medieval Fleiner Gate on the road to Flein . The figure on the fountain column has been replaced several times, the current statue is by Karl Federlin from 1904. Hn-fleinertorbrunnen-1.jpg
Feel well 1795/1858 The Pfühlbrunnen goes back to a spring set in 1795, which was framed in 1858 and supplemented with stone benches. In 1905 the complex was completed by planting a linden tree. Behind the Pfühlbrunnen is the Pfühlpark , which was laid out in 1909 . Heilbronn-pfuehlbrunnen1.jpg

Renner fountain 1910 The Renner fountain was built in 1910 opposite the Jägerhaus in a complex that is designed as a symbolic gate to the city forest, it probably goes back to the Molkenbrönnlein , which is said to have been near the Jägerhaus quarry as early as the 18th century. It is named after Karl Renner , the fire brigade commander of many years in Heilbronn , and was not fed from a spring, but from tap water. The water supply was often blocked as early as the 1970s, and the well is now dry. Heilbronn-Rennerbrunnen.JPG

Bear fountain 1960 The sculptor Ernst Kibler from Stuttgart designed the bear fountain for Berliner Platz in Heilbronn. At the time of the design competition in 1959, there were already 55 fountains in Heilbronn. The fountain originally consisted of the bear and two lemniscate- shaped basins. The bear figure is supposed to symbolize the city of Berlin . The fountain was inaugurated on May 13, 1960 by Willy Brandt , but the fountain basins were removed again in 1975. The figure of the Berlin Bear stood from 1981 to January 27, 2011 without a fountain basin in the central green strip of the avenue opposite the Heilbronn City Theater . On December 21, 2016, it was set up in front of the city theater. Heilbronn-berliner-baer.JPG

Käthchenbrunnen 1965 Designed in 1965 by Dieter Läpple . The fountain consists of a larger than life, 2.20 meter high bronze statue of Käthchen von Heilbronn and stands in Kirchbrunnenstrasse, until 2013 at the stairs to the back entrance of the C&A department store, since 2016 after a three-year construction-related break in almost the same place now behind the Marrahaus . The originally existing water feature has not existed since 1991. In 1965, the fountain caused controversy among the citizens, who saw the city not adequately represented by the braided bronze wind bride . In 2008 the Käthchenparade took place, at which individually painted casts of the figure were set up distributed throughout the city. Heilbronn-sculpture-kaethchen.JPG

Theater fountain 1983 Built by Gudrun Schreiner in August 1983 next to the Heilbronn City Theater . In April 1982 the sculptor won first prize in the competition for the design of the theater forecourt with a design in which the function as a fountain and the thematic relation to the theater were equally taken into account. Under the motto "Theater, Kleist and Käthchenstadt" , a broad ensemble with characters and scenarios from the historical world of drama was created. The figures to be seen on the fountain - all embedded in an approximately round bronze relief - come from Greek mythology, but are also based on William Shakespeare's Midsummer Night 's Dream and Heinrich von Kleist's Käthchen von Heilbronn . Correspondingly, around the dreamy Käthchen in the center of the group Orpheus, Eurydice, Narcissus and various animal and bird people are arranged. A self-portrait of the artist can also be discovered somewhat hidden. The fountain is based on a cloverleaf-shaped fountain basin made up of three round, interlocking, flat bowls, the granite bridges of which are accessible. The relief itself was created in six parts using the lost wax technique in Tuscany. The water fountains come from the sculpture ensemble as well as from the surrounding basin, whereby the ups and downs of the water course are supposed to remind of the opening and closing of the theater curtain. Since today's theater would hardly be imaginable without Shakespeare, the artist also had a verse by the English poet and playwright engraved: "We are made of the stuff that dreams are made of." The approx. 9 × 16 meter large fountain with up to 3 meter high figures is located on Kiliansplatz . The left-hand design for this fountain was able to prevail in a design competition in 1988. In place of the fountain, there was previously the stone sculpture Tor closed by Michael Schoenholtz, which was moved to the end of Kirchbrunnenstrasse on the Neckar. Hn-stadtbrunnen2010.jpg
