history
The constituency was re-established after German reunification for the 1990 Bundestag election under the name Stralsund - Rügen - Grimmen and given the constituency number 267.
The constituency originally consisted of the area of the city of Stralsund and the area of the former districts of Stralsund , Rügen and Grimmen . During the district reform in 1994, the district of North Western Pomerania was created from the districts of Grimmen, Stralsund and Ribnitz-Damgarten . The area of the former Ribnitz-Damgarten district initially still belonged to the Rostock-Land - Ribnitz-Damgarten - Teterow - Malchin constituency and was only renamed Stralsund - North Western Pomerania - Rügen in the course of the constituency reorganization prior to the federal election in 2002 Constituency number 15 assigned to the constituency. For the general election in 2013 the constituency to the Hanseatic city was Greifswald and Landhagen the district Vorpommern-Greifswald enlarged and in Vorpommern-Rügen - Vorpommern-Greifswald I renamed.
