The Postal Old Speckfeld is an Outbound high medieval motte (Motte) in Old Speckfeld , a modern district of the market town of Markt Bibart in the Middle Franconian district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim in Bavaria . The castle was founded by the noble free "von Speckfeld", who moved their headquarters around 1200 to the new Höhenburg Speckfeld near Markt Einersheim, which they built. They were inherited by the Hohenlohe, shortly after 1400 by the Limpurg taverns, who were able to claim a small county on the Maindreieck with Markt Einersheim / Hellmitzheim, Gollhofen and Sommer- / Winterhausen.

After the new construction of the Höhenburg Speckfeld, the old place received the addition "Alten-" and became Altenspeckfeld. The very extensive and high square tower mound of the former moth enclosure is still almost intact. The name "Speckfeld" means "moist, clayey, sticky field", which fits very well with the location of Altenspeckfeld in the humid valley floodplain of the Bibartbach, but not with the Speckfeld hilltop castle.
