The Postal Külsheim , including Castle Kuelsheim called, is a Outbound medieval castle in Külsheim , a modern suburb of Bad Windsheim in the administrative district Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim in Bavaria .
The castle was built on the remains of a former Celtic refugee castle, probably a rampart from around 450 BC. The castle was the seat of the Knights of Külsheim, a noble family towards the end of the 10th century who were fiefs of the Lords of Hohenlohe . From 1348 to 1350 a Friedrich Esel, a knight of Külsheim, is called. In 1381 the castle was destroyed by troops from the imperial city of Windsheim because of robber baronism when the people rebelled against the nobility. By 1413 the Knights of Külsheim died out. In the 19th century, the castle site was built over with a house called the Schlösschen .
