The Postal Obertiefenbach is a Outbound medieval moated castle at the local Church of St. Mary near the village pond in Upper Deep , a modern suburb of Bad Windsheim in the administrative district Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim in Bavaria .

In 1328, Schoder von Tief, who lived in Oberntief until 1406, is named with the castle. In 1381 the castle was destroyed by troops from the imperial city of Windsheim because of robber barons. In 1406 the knights Hohenberg and Schoder sold the castle stables with forest and fields to the hospital in Windsheim. In 1447 the castle was completely demolished. In the winter of 1886–87 the remains of the castle stables were removed and farms were established from the goods belonging to it. The former castle inn is now the "Schwarzer Adler" inn.
