The list of castles and palaces in Bavaria / Middle Franconia is a directory of historical places, such as castles , palaces , mansions , fortresses , moths , castle stables and fortified churches on the territory of today's Middle Franconia administrative district , divided into independent cities and districts. There are further lists for the administrative districts of Upper Bavaria , Lower Bavaria , Upper Palatinate , Upper Franconia , Lower Franconia and Swabia . Ornamental and replicas that were never used as residential buildings or for defense are not listed .

  1. 1237 "personally" destroyed by Juta von Kesselberg as atonement to end the ban on church with which her husband Friedrich von Kesselberg occupied and who was slain in a dispute with Würzburg riders in 1237, could be ecclesiastically buried.
