Faulenberg is a district of the town of Schillingsfürst in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia .
geography
The parish village is located about three kilometers northwest of the center of the small town on a plateau of the Frankenhöhe just before its western slope, above the upper valley cut of the Faulenberggraben in the south, which flows from the right into the right Tauber tributary Wohnbach .
The district road AN 7 leads to Diebach (3.2 km west) and Neuweiler (1 km east). A community road leads to Rödersdorf (2.7 km north).
history
In the 16-point report of the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Colmberg from 1608, 13 teams are recorded for Faulenberg: 2 properties were subordinate to the Sulz monastery administration office , 1 property to the Ansbach monastery , 7 properties to the imperial city of Rothenburg and 3 properties to the Hohenlohe office of Schillingsfürst . The High Court exercised the Vogtamt Colmberg . In the 16-point report of the Colmberg Oberamt from 1681, the number of teams and the manorial situation are unchanged for Faulenberg. The High Court was ceded to Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst by contract in 1710.
With the community edict (early 19th century) Faulenberg was assigned to the tax district Bellershausen . A little later, the rural community Bellershausen was formed, to which the places Neuweiler , Obermühle and Wohnbach belonged. Its administration and jurisdiction were subordinate to the Schillingsfürst Lordship Court (from 1840 Schillingsfürst Regional Court ). The municipality had an area of 7.493 km². In the course of the regional reform , this was incorporated into Schillingsfürst on January 1st, 1977.
On the Faulenberger district there are two lost castles, so-called castle stables , they represent the remainder of a medieval castle . A castle stable is located immediately south of the village between two stream valleys in the Roter Berg corridor ( Burgstall Faulenberg ), another is in the northern part of the district on the Teufelsstein at 504 meters above sea level ( Teufelsstein Castle ).
