Altengreuth is a district of the town of Schillingsfürst in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The hamlet is located on the Steinbach, which flows together with the Erlbacher Mühlbach, which is a right tributary of the Altmühl . Approx. 1 km east of the village rises the Schwander Berg ( 503  m above sea level ), about 0.5 km north of the Münchsberg - there is also the Strohbrunnen corridor area - and about 1 km west of the Obere First ( 514  m above sea level) ).

The state road 2246 leading to Schillingsfürst (4 km west) and after Neureuth (1.5 km to the northeast). The district road AN 34 leads to Traisdorf (1.7 km north).

history

According to the 16-point report of the Brandenburg-Ansbach district of Brunst from 1608, Altengreuth and Schorndorf formed a community. 6 teams are listed for Altengreuth: 4 properties were vogtable and controllable by the Rothenburg council , valid and leasable of these 2 properties were Diebach Castle and 2 properties were the Walchischen heirs of Rothenburg. 2 properties exercised Hohenlohe-schilling for-Nazi official Schillingsfürst the basic rule out fully. The High Court held the office estrus. The 16-point report of the Leutershausen Office from 1681 also lists 6 teams for Altengreuth: 4 properties were subordinate to the Schillingsfürst office and 2 properties were owned by the imperial city of Rothenburg . The high court exercised the office of Leutershausen.

In 1799 there were eight subject families in the place. According to a listing from 1830, it belonged to an extensive wooded area between Leutershausen and Sulz Abbey with the main town of Brunst , which has been called "the Brünst" or "the Brunst" and has been cleared in places since the Middle Ages . The Brünst was known for its good cattle breeding; their 22 villages were considered rich.

With the community edict (early 19th century), Altengreuth was assigned to the tax district and the rural community of Stilzendorf . In the course of the territorial reform , this was incorporated into Schillingsfürst on January 1, 1972.
