history

Around 1241 the place was first mentioned as "Wolcolfesdorf". At that time the place belonged to the Katzwanger Mark, which was subordinate to the Ellwangen Monastery . In 1296 the Ellwangen Monastery sold the Katzwanger Mark to the Ebrach Monastery . In 1297 a local nobility of "Vokoltstorf" was mentioned, which can be traced back to the 14th century. In the period that followed, Nuremberg patricians became lords of the place and the castle. The princes of Haimendorf owned the castle longest (1630–1843). In 1863 Karl Christoph Oelhafen von Schöllenbach sold half of the castle and his estate to craftsmen, farmers and farmers. At that time, the landlord and landowner Johann Georg Stief von Hohenstein bought the farm with the Voitenhaus.

In 1732 there were 7 properties in Oberwolkersdorf and 11 properties in Unterwolkersdorf, according to Johann Georg Vetter's Oberamt descriptions . All properties were subordinate to the Nuremberg owner von Fürer. Towards the end of the 18th century there were 11 properties in Oberwolkersdorf (1 castle with hunter's house and economy estate , 3 Köbler estates , 1 estate with inn, 2 little estates , 3 empty houses ) and in Unterwolkersdorf 11 estates (2 whole courtyards, 4 three-quarter courtyards, 3 half courtyards, 1 Köblergut, 1 Gütlein). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Schwabach . The Nuremberg owner von Fürer held the village and community rulership as well as the lordship over all properties. In addition to the property, there were two shepherds' houses, both of which were communal buildings.

As part of the community edict, Wolkersdorf was assigned to the Dietersdorf tax district , Section II , in 1808 . It also belonged to the Dietersdorf rural community formed in 1818 . On October 14, 1959, the community was renamed Wolkersdorf. On July 1, 1972, Wolkersdorf was incorporated into Schwabach as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
