history

In 1313 the place was first mentioned as "Meydbach", in 1530 as "Obern Maipach". Originally the place consisted of four courtyards. In 1623 most of the properties were subordinate to the patricians of Nuremberg ( von Imhoff , von Förster, etc.), the rest of the Linck family from Schwabach. In 1732 there were eight properties in the village, according to the Oberamtsbeschreibung by Johann Georg Vetter : one property was subordinate to the caste office in Schwabach , two properties to the rich alms of the imperial city of Nuremberg and five properties from Nuremberg owners (von Imhoff: two, von Förster: three).

Towards the end of the 18th century there were nine properties and a community shepherd's house in Obermainbach. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Schwabach . The caste office Schwabach held the village and community rulership. The landlords were the box office Schwabach (1 Gütlein), the imperial city of Nuremberg ( St. Katharina office : 1 half yard; state alms office : 1 whole yard, 1 half yard) and Nuremberg owners (von Imhoff: 2 half yards; von Örtel: 1 whole yard, 1 half yard, 1 Köblergut ). In 1802 there were eight properties in the village, one of which was subordinate to the Schwabach Chamber of Commerce and seven were from Nuremberg.

As part of the community edict, Obermainbach was assigned to the Rednitzhembach tax district in 1808 . It belonged to the rural community of Ottersdorf formed in 1818 . On January 1, 1972, Ottersdorf was incorporated into Schwabach as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
